Ingredients
- 2 cans Carnation (evaporated) milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 teaspoons gelatin*
Directions
- Beat salt, vanilla and milk at medium to fast speed until ingredients triple in amount.
- Gradually, while still beating the mixture add the sugar followed by the gelatine.
- Place ice-cream mixture in a container and freeze this for several hours - remembering to stir the mixture occasionally during the freezing process.
Very collectable if you come across these. Any freezer proof container will do the job. In my day we did not have plastic so it was metal or nothing.
